The serpentine queue that had gathered outside the audition venue was evident enough to prove how eagerly the youth of Delhi and entire Northern region of India were waiting for India’s No 1 dance reality show on Indian television, Dance India Dance to return! The versitality, the intensity, the attitude, the wow factor that the Masters Geeta Kapoor, Terence Lewis and Remo D'Souza witnessed at the Delhi auditions recognized every contestant's dedication and passion to win the ‘Taqdeer ka Topi’! What touched the Masters was not how they performed but their sincerity towards dance as an art form.

A non-descript Furkhan hailing from a family of auto rickshawalla mesmerised the judges with his excellent Robotic act and a psychically challenged Sunny Kumar danced with only one hand and brought tears to the eyes of the Masters. As did Pankaj Marwari who made chai for the mentors on the top of his head while Remo D'Souza’s duplicates – Vinod Kumar and Afsar Ansari - kept everyone in splits. All these and many more dancers confirmed that the city was not alone Dilwalon ki Delhi but now can be safely called Dance ke Dilwalon ki Delhi!

There’s another NRI contestant whose story is inspiring. She is Anastasia born and brought up in Belarus, a landlocked country in Eastern Europe. She had got hooked on to the show by watching Dance India Dance episodes on the internet. Since the channel, Zee TV was not available in her home country, she made full use of the internet and did not miss a single episode of DID on the Zee TV website. The turning point in her life came when she met her Indian parents who had adopted her at the same time that her biological parents were filing for a divorce. She decided to settle down in India and stay with her adopted parents. She welcomed the Indian way of life with open arms and also changed her name to Mansi. Mansi started taking lessons from a renowned Kathak exponent in Delhi. She was already adept at contemporary dance style and picked up the traditional Indian dance form quickly. On getting an opportunity to audition in Delhi, she was overwhelmed with emotions after performing in front of Remo, Geeta and Terence.

Then there was Dolly Bist, a young girl from Haridwar, who is desperate to prove to the people of her town that dancing can also be a respectable profession. Locals from her native place call her a nachnewali. She wants to fight this taboo and live her life with her head held high.

The highlight act was that of Raghav Juyal who takes pride in calling himself ‘Crockroach’. He hails from Dehradun and when questioned on his odd name, 'Crockroach', he quips, "I like the power of a crocodile and the creepiness of a coackroach!" His body popping act was one that has never been seen on television before!

Like Anastasia, Dolly, Remo look-alikes Afsar Ansari and Vinod Kumar and Crockroach, the Delhi audition is filled with acts by many more participants belonging to humble backgrounds but sharing a burning passion for dance.

Aamir was first introduced as a child artiste in the 1970's hit Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973) -- he was the youngest child in the trio. He then concentrated on school and became a state tennis champion for Maharashtra. Aamir fell in love with the girl next door in the meantime. He proposed to her the day he turned 21, and she accepted. But apparently, there was opposition since she was from a Hindu family and he, from a devout Islamic one. So, they eloped, got married and returned to their homes. Aamir's wife Reena even appears in the song "Papa Kehte Hain".

His performance in Earth (1998) as the Ice-Candy man has received rave reviews from Indian and International critics. Using classic "method acting" and adopted an acting technique inspired by his seniors Sanjeev Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Dev Anand and Shammi Kapoor, Aamir acts in all genres of Indian films - comedy, action, drama and romance. He is regarded as complete Indian actor of the post 1990 generation of actors for his diverse choice of roles and films

Indian Girl is a lifestyle. In a genre unto its own, the band fuses psychedelia, classic rock, electronica and modern jam- layering it with smooth ambient textures that invoke positive feelings and remind listeners what is right in today's music. Unique songwriting, consciously altering live shows and a universal crossover appeal has allowed  Indian Girl to rapidly gain a national following with fans of all ages. Originally signed to Astralwerks, the LA band was born as a concept by Francis Ten and Robert James of a sound that revolved around texture, mood and lyrical romanticism-songs inspired by ideals and motivated by feeling. As the band developed through touring, Mark Lewis (drums), Mariqueen Maandig (vocals) and Nathan Van Hala (keys) became integral pieces of the puzzle. The project that began as a duo was now cemented as a cohesive five piece band. Since releasing their debut album, the band has toured nationally both as a supporting act and as a headliner. Along the way,  Indian Girl has shared the stage with My Morning Jacket, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Fischerspooner, Phoenix, Turin Brakes, and others. The band has also become a presence in the festival scene playing the High Sierra Festival and San Diego Street Scene in the summer of 2006.  Indian Girl's dynamic songwriting has also seen success, as their dramatic, melodic style lends itself well to the licensing world. In India, there is a great diversity of landforms such as lofty mountains, deep valleys, extensive plains, and a number of islands. Broadly the physical features of India can be divided into five physical units - The Great Mountains of the North, The North Indian Plain, The Peninsular Plateau, The Coastal Plains, and The Islands.

There are as many as 28 states in India, located in the total area of 3,287,263 km2. The largest of all Indian states is Rajasthan which covers an area of 342240 sq km. The state of Rajasthan shares its border with Pakistan on the West, Gujarat on the South West, Madhya Pradesh on the South East and Punjab to the North.
Goa is the smallest state in India located merely in 3702 sq km. The state of Goa is located to the South West of India and is the most prosperous of all the states in the country. Uttar Pradesh lying to the North East of the country is the most populous country in India. The state of Gujarat lying on the extreme west of India is one of the most prosperous of all Indian states. The awe strikingly beautiful Jammu and Kashmir is the northernmost state in the country. India's eastern border is equipped by states of Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam , Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh . All these states together are located in the 7% of the total area in the country. The union territories in the country are seven in number. Delhi, the capital of India also falls under the category. The other union territories of the country include Chandigarh located to the North of the country, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu located to the West of the country, Lakshadweep located to the South West of the country, Puducherry located to the South East of the country and Andaman and Nicobar Islands located to the South East of the country.

India has a large reserve of rivers- big and small and all these rivers are revered in the country other than merely being the sources of water. The River Brahmaputra is a trans-boundary River. The river originates in Tibet and enters India in Arunachal Pradesh and passes through Assam before finally making its way through Bangladesh. The River Ganga is the longest river in India and is considered to be the most pious river in the country. The river has several tributaries including River Yamuna which is the only water body near the National Capital- New Delhi. River Chambal, a tributary of Yamuna passes through Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The other major rivers in India include Narmada River originating at Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh, River Godavri originating at Tryambakeshar in Maharashtra, River Krishna originating at Mahabaleshwar, River Kaveri passing through Karnataka and Tamil Nadu , Mahanadi River flowing through Chattisgarh and Odisha. The other rivers in the country include Mahi, Betwa, Penner, Kosi, Tungabhadra and several others.
India shares its international borders with Pakistan in the west, Nepal, China and Bhutan in the North West. It is surrounded by Burma and Bangladesh to the East. Sri Lanka lies to the South of India and India's union territory Andaman and Nicobar Islands lie close to Thailand and Indonesia.
